Paul Franklin Carrigan, age 86 of Taylorsville, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Alexander County on July 12, 1924 to David Augustus Carrigan, *Gus* and Lovie Jane Dagenhart Carrigan.    He was a member of Millersville Baptist Church.   Employed for the Alexander County School System for over 40 years, he served as a Custodian and Bus Driver; however, he will always be remembered as *The Bicycle Man*.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife:  Sadie Little Carrigan; 7 brothers:  Jack, Dave, Richard, Callie, Odell, Plato, and Charlie Carrigan, 2 sisters:  Margie Fox and Rosie Stafford; and his Son-in-law: James Kirksey.  Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, R.L. Carrigan of Taylorsville; 2 daughters, Jean Kirksey of Conover and Glenda Mecimore and friend Roger Shupe; 1 son, LeeRoy Carrigan and wife Daphne * all of Taylorsville.  He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren;   Rickie Carrigan and wife, Barbara; Terry Williams, Angela Mecimore  -each of Taylorsville, and Cynthia Mecimore of Hiddenite. 1 great-grandson, Cole Carrigan of Taylorsville; One son-in-law; John Wayne Mecimore of Hiddenite; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Carrigan will be held at Millersville Baptist Church on Friday, September 17, 2010 beginning at 3:00pm.  Funeral Service will follow at 4:30 pm With the Reverends Bill Orren and Eddie Jolly.  Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simontom Road, Statesville, NC  28677. Arrangements are being made by Alexander Funeral Service.
