Paul Stephen Lail

Paul Stephen Lail, age 74, known as Steve by his family and friends, was born on Friday, September 29, 1950, in Catawba County. He passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at his home in Alexander County.

Steve's dedication to his country was exemplified by his proud service in the United States Air Force, which laid the foundation for a life characterized by resilience and honor. In addition to his military service, Steve enjoyed the great outdoors, often found traveling to the mountains, camping under the stars, or immersed in a good book. His adventurous spirit and love for nature were constants in his life, inviting others to join him in appreciating the beauty around them.

Steve's commitment to family was unwavering, as he cherished the time spent with loved ones, making memories that will be held dear by many. He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Lail Honeycutt and Paula Price (Darren), his grandchildren: Kyle Hunter Honeycutt, Noah Ryan Honeycutt (Ivy), Faith Brianne Price, and Peyton Elizabeth Price, great-grandson, Jackson Todd Honeycutt. Steve also leaves behind three sisters, Geraldine Morrison, Mickey Edwards, and Nancy Battistelli, as well as his loyal fur baby, Trooper, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Lail and Faye Poarch Broome.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
