Peggy Sue Hamm Forsythe, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at her home in Alexander County on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on Thursday, March 31, 1955, in Alexander County, Peggy was a beloved figure known for her compassion and dedication to others.
When Peggy was able to work, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the healthcare industry, where her nurturing spirit and commitment to care made a significant impact on the lives of those she served. She brought warmth and comfort to her patients.
Peggy attended Beulah Baptist Church. Her faith was an important aspect of her life, and she treasured the friendships she cultivated there.
Family was at the heart of Peggy’s life. She loved her family dearly and always cherished spending quality time with them, especially her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her days. Peggy's nurturing nature extended beyond her profession and deeply into her family life. Her laughter, love, and memories will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ed Forsythe. She is also survived by her children: Shelley Bolick, Bradley Wallace (Lisa), Daniel Burr (Sarah), Debra Burr, Michael Burr (Kate), and Cindy Burr, and her grandchildren: James Bolick (Tori), Dallas Bolick, Cody Bolick, Brandon Bolick, Jessica Litton (Austin), David Bolick (Katie Ester), Lauren Wallace, Parker Wallace, Noah Burr, Torie Burr, Lennox Burr, Landon Burr, and Reed Burr. Additionally, she was a proud great-grandmother to Hunter Litton, Carter Litton, Noah Bolick, Aiden Bolick, and Addison Bolick.
Peggy is also survived by her sisters, Debbie Bentley (Jerry) and Barbara Canipe (Rick), her brothers, Mickey Daniels (Rebekah), Dale Hamm (Maureen), and David Hamm, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will fondly remember her warmth and spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ruth Daniels Hamm, as well as her daughter, Wendy Michelle Meadows, and her brothers, Robert Hamm and Rick Hamm.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Cemetery. Rev. Allen Fox will officiate. David Bolick, James Bolick, Brandon Bolick, Austin Litton, Chris Bentley, and Leonard Thomas will serve as pallbearers.
The family will accept flowers.
Peggy will be remembered not only for her dedication to her work and family but also for her generous spirit and love for life. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
