Peggy Hines Lee,

Peggy Jean Hines Lee, age 84, of Bethlehem/Hickory, passed away at the Hospice House in Sherrills Ford on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Born in Alexander County on September 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Roy Daniel and Suma Lee (Hafer) Hines. Before her years of being a homemaker, Peggy was the secretary for the Superior Court in Jacksonville, NC. She was of the Lutheran faith and was an avid shopper. Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband - Jerol Lee; one brother - David Hines; one sister - Jennie H. Gordon and her aunt and uncle - Glenn and Arveta Beaver. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter -Terri Whitten, of Charlotte; her son - Derek Whitten and wife Mary Jane and grandson - Gunnar Whitten, of Rockledge, FL; one sister - Martha Jolly and husband Winfred and sister-in-law Christine Hines, all of Taylorsville;  her nieces and nephews - Patti Arvin, Vince Jolly, Darren Jolly, Tabi Sigmon and Dion Hines. She also had a special caregiver, Lashonda Lewis.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 2:15 pm - 3:00 pm at the Mausoleum of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens - Fallen Creek Rd, Hickory and Service will follow in the Mausoleum at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Sherrills Ford Hospice House at 7473 Sherrills Ford Rd, Sherrills Ford, NC 28673.
