Peggy Moretz Kirby,

d. March 8, 2016

Peggy Moretz Kirby was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 7, 2016, after a brave and courageous fight with breast cancer. Peggy was a selfless, loving and caring mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. As a longstanding educator for Alexander County Schools, she had a positive impact on many young children and families in the Bethlehem and Ellendale communites. She cherished her role as GiGi by reading books with her granddaughter Savannah, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first grandson Cannon and second granddaughter Maggie. Spending time and making memories with family and friends was her favorite thing to do. Peggy was an inspiration and a role-model to those who knew her and her legacy will live on "Forever and Always". She was preceded in death by father Daniel "Buster" Moretz and sister Joy Bentley. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Hazel Teague Moretz, of Taylorsville; her two daughters Caroline Smith and husband, Chris, of Taylorsville; Caitlin Clark and husband, Colby, of Mooresville; Grandchildren Savannah and Maggie Smith and Cannon Clark; sister Karen Walker and husband, Gary; brother Robin Moretz and wife, Jamie; Brother-in-law Hayden Bentley, and honorary brother, Randy Stafford and wife, Penny, all of Taylorsville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the church. The Rev. Steven Dagenhart will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Colby Clark, Chris Smith, Gary Walker, Hayden Bentley, Tony Potts, and Randy Stafford.
