Penny Leigh Kerley

Penny Leigh Bentley Kerley, age 56, of Taylorsville left this world for her heavenly home on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Wilkes County on December 10, 1961, the daughter of the late Herman A. and Shirley B. Bare Bentley. During her career she worked as a weaver at Schneider Mills and was a member at Millersville Baptist Church. Penny enjoyed cooking especially around the holidays. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, & friend and her grandchildren were her world. Penny loved her dogs, “Sissy” and “Weedals.” She will be missed but will forever be treasured in our hearts.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 25 years Alan Wayne Kerley of the home; daughter Jamie Moretz & husband Robin of Bethlehem; step-son Casey Alan Kerley of Taylorsville; step-daughter Tausha Mays & husband Ronnie of Taylorsville; grandchildren Layla & Justin Mays; sister Frankie Bare Stamper of Lenoir; three nephews of Boomer; and special friends Ruby Sherrick of Taylorsville & Magnalene Kilby of Moravian Falls.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 2:30 pm – 3:45 pm at Millersville Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Bill Orren and Rev. Bill Bentley officiating with cremation to follow. Serving as pallbearers will be the Deacons of Millersville Baptist Church. Inurnment will be with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Millersville Christian Academy at 130 Millersville Church Rd; Taylorsville, NC 28681.
