Phillip Wilson Howell,

Phillip Wilson Howell, age 81, of Boomer, passed away on Thursday night, July 21st, 2011 at his residence.  He was born in Wilkes County on February 18th, 1930 to parents Douglas and Frances Howell.  Phillip was a member ofThankfulBaptistChurch.  He was a farmer by trade and enjoyed hunting.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Zolly, Otis, John R., and Conard Howell; and 3 sisters: Pancy H. Fletcher, Lucille Howell, and Birtie Howell.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce Faye Horton Howell of the home; 2 sons: Randy Lee Howell & wife Margie, and Ronnie Melvin Howell & wife Jeanette; and also 1 brother: Graham Howell – all of Boomer.  He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Howell will be held on Monday, July 25 atThankfulBaptistChurchfrom 1:00 - 2:00 pm with the Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 pm.  Rev. John C. Rowe, Rev. Montrall Howell, and Rev. Ronald Howell will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Alexander Funeral & Cremation Service is handling the arrangements for the Howell family.
