Randy Lee Chatham, age 41, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Born October 3, 1971 in Iredell County to Rev. James "Jimmy" Dwight and Jeanette Goodin Chatham. Randy was a massage therapist for Hand and Stone of Winston-Salem. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was an avid reader of history, especially the Civil War era. He was a great prankster and enjoyed his nieces and nephews, as if they were his own children. Randy is preceded in death by his grandparents: Hugh Gordon & Novella Icenhour Chatham and Arlie Isom & Genelia Adeline Goodin; as well as several aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters - Robin Hays and husband Erik: and Tami Collins and fiancé, Brian Miller; three nieces - Brittney Holland and husband, Tyler: Emma and Addi Harrington and one nephew - Jonathan Collins, all of Taylorsville. Special friends - Matt Collins and Mesha Russell, both of Taylorsville and Linda Lynch of Winston-Salem. He also has several aunts, uncles and cousins who survive.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Alexander Funeral Service with funeral services on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Emerald Baptist Church in Hiddenite with the Rev. Jerry Chatham and Rev. Keith Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Three Forks Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Brian Miller, Matt Collins, Tyler Holland, Erik Hays, Jody Pennell, Trent Chatham, Travis Chatham and Trevor Chatham. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O.
