Raymond "Ray" Bruce Langridge, age 85, of Taylorsville, formerly of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away on Sunday evening, August 4, 2013 in Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville. Born to the late H.R. and Winnie Milbourne Langridge, on October 4, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, IA, he was a veteran of the United States Navy during WWII and Korea. He was a former employee of Sanitary Dairy Farms and retired from Junge Ford Motor Co. in Cedar Rapids. In retirement he was employed at Drug Town in Marion IA. Ray was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan, and also loved puzzles, reading and enjoyed playing golf. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Darlene Langridge, as well as two brothers, Bob and Howard Langridge. Mr. Langridge is survived by one son, James Langridge and wife Molly of St. Petersburg, FL and one daughter, Joan Hepker and husband, Bob of Taylorsville. Four granddaughters: Jodi Daniels and husband Jared of Taylorsville, Joy Ledford and husband Scott of Hickory. Jill Davis of Granite Falls, and Katie Tinter and husband Jeremy of St. Petersburg, FL. He leaves 7 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and one expected great grandchild. He also has a number of nieces and nephews.
No formal services are planned at this time. Graveside committal services will be planned for Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, IA, for Mr. and Mrs. Langridge at a later date.
