Renee’ Evon Flowers, age 40, of Gravel Hill Court in Taylorsville, went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday morning, December 20th, 2010 after battling an illness for 17 years (seriously ill for 2 weeks).  She was born on January 22nd, 1970 in Iredell County to parents Robert Leon and Jean Rowe Flowers.  She graduated from Alexander Central High in 1988 and attended Central Piedmont College in Charlotte and received a degree in Paralegal Law.  While attending college, she worked in the payroll department and was the fulltime manager at McDonald’s in Taylorsville while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.  Renee’ was a member of St. John Baptist Church and a former member of the Usher Board.  Her grandmother, Cora Belle Flowers; 3 uncles; and 2 aunts preceded her in death.  In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory include: daughter, Shala Renee’ Flowers; grandson, Jykese LaQuan Carrington; brother, Avery Leon Flowers Sr.; 2 nephews: Avery Leon Flowers Jr., and Tyreke Flowers; grandmother, Myrtle Rowe; Cousin and best friend, Cassidy Saunders; caregiver for 16 years, Chris Richardson; shopping-buddy, Mamie Wilson; 4 uncles; 4 aunts; and a host of other cousins and friends.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 22nd at Alexander Funeral Service from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, December 23rd at St. John Baptist Church at 2:30 pm where Rev. T.E. Martin and Rev. John Rowe will officiate.  The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
