Richard Dean Phillips, affectionately known as Rick, age 74, was born on Sunday, January 15, 1950, in Stoddard County, Missouri. He passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at his home in Alexander County, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

 Rick dedicated his professional life to the noble role of a insurance agent and a prison guard in Iredell County, where he was known for his integrity and commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around him. A man of faith and action, he also actively contributed to the Baptist Men, helping during many disasters, and he traveled to Russia twice, further exemplifying his willingness to serve others.

 A proud veteran, Rick served his country in the United States Navy, a testament to his patriotism and dedication to his fellow citizens. His spirit was deeply rooted in his faith as a graduate of Fruitland Bible College and a member of New Life Church, where he passionately shared his love for God and reached out to others, embodying a spirit of kindness and warmth. Rick never met a stranger; he had a remarkable gift for conversation, taking pleasure in getting to know people from all walks of life.

 Rick was a devoted family man who loved and cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Beth Phillips. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared memories. Rick is also survived by his son, Shane Michael Phillips (Diane), and his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Norman (Michael). His family further extends to stepchildren James "Craig" Blankenship (Patsy) and Carl Blankenship (Amy), as well as his siblings Gail Acton, Donnie Robinette, Phillip Robinette, and Roger Robinette. The joy of his life continued with grandchildren Zackary Holley and Brody Mason, providing Rick with countless moments of happiness and pride. He also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews.

 Rick had a passion for tinkering and woodworking, utilizing these hobbies to create and craft with love. His nurturing spirit and joyful personality touched all who were fortunate enough to know him, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.

 Preceding Rick in death were his mother, Helen Phillips Robinette, and his stepfather, Don L. Robinette. 

 No public services will be planned. Inurnment will be with the family.
