Ricky Carson Baker, age 58, born on Sunday, February 13, 1966, in Catawba County, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, known for his deep love for his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.
Ricky was a supervisor of upholstery at Sherrill Furniture, where he was respected for his craftsmanship and work ethic. His passion extended beyond his profession; he enjoyed coaching and playing softball, as well as shooting guns, and sharing these interests with friends and family alike.
He attended Community Christian Fellowship and had strong faith and love for his Savior. Ricky's pride was evident in the milestones of those he loved, particularly his loving wife Barbara Baker of 35 years, daughters, Courtney Siniard (Justin) and Taylor Houston (Hunter), and his grandchildren, Everlee and Silas Siniard and Jax Houston.
He leaves behind his sisters, Linda Piercy (Jerry), Regina Reece (Gary), and Anita Legg (Pete); his brother, Larry Baker (Mary); special friend Doug Pope; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Everette Baker and Ethel Davis Baker Earp, and his brothers, Charles Everette Baker and Tony Earl Baker, along with his nephew, Scott Edward Starnes.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm, both held at Mt Bethel Methodist Church, located at 9042 North Carolina 127, Hickory, NC 28601. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Pastor Neil Bowman will officiate. Justin Siniard, Hunter Houston, Mark Hefner, Harold Reece, Landon Reece, and Logan Legg will serve as pallbearers.

Ricky's legacy of love and dedication to family will be remembered by all who knew him.
