Rita Brown Mash, age 66 of Taylorsville, passed away at her home Tuesday afternoon, September 16, 2014, following an illness. Rita was born on February 2, 1948 to the late Jesse Lee and Viola Smith Brown. She had been a bus driver for the Alexander County School system and also worked at Burger Basket for some 30 years.
Those loved ones left to cherish her memory are her husband Carl Mash of the home, and three sons: Steven Mash and wife, Rebecca; Billy Mash, and Jeremy Mash. Two grandchildren: Brandon Mash and Sharon Barlow and husband A.J. Three great-grandchildren: Emily, Madison, and Allison Barlow. Two nephews: Michael and Jeff Brown. One niece: Sonya Echerd. Three sister-in-laws: Lucille Mash, Barbara Brown, and Kathy Mash Bowman and husband, Phillip; and three brother-in-laws: Ralph and wife, Nancy; Ray and Richard Mash. She also leaves behind a dear special friend, Susan Allen.
Besides her parents, those preceding her in death are two brothers: Wade Brown and Sam Brown; and one infant sister.
Visitation for Mrs. Mash will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 4:00 -5:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service with a Memorial Service to follow at 5:00 pm. Officiates will be Rev. Earl Godfrey, Rev. Jeremy Bumgarner, and Rev. Mark Robinette
