Robert Ernest Williams,

Robert Ernest Williams age 75, of Taylorsville passed away at Valley Nursing Center on Saturday, January 14, 2012 following a lengthy illness.  Born December 19, 1936 in Wilkes County to the late William Avery and Roxie Lankford Williams, he was of the Baptist faith.  Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Navy during the post Korean Era.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Coy Lankford and Don Williams, one sister Reba Pearson as well as a son-in-law, Gary Murdock.  He is survived by his daughter Jenny Lynn Murdock of the home and the mother of his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Irene Williams of Taylorsville; two grandsons Curtis Dean Swaney of Louisville, TN and Tony Elias Swaney of Taylorsville; one great-grandson Kayden Christopher Swaney of Alexander, IN; two brothers Richard and Floyd Williams both of Millers Creek.  He also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews. The family of Mr. Williams will receive friends at Alexander Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 18 from 12 noon until 1:30 pm. with a graveside service to be held at Friendship Community Cemetery at 2:00 pm. with Military Rites to be given by DAV Post -84.
