Robert Price "Bob",

Robert Gerald Price, “Bob,” age 72, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, August 22nd, 2011 at Valley Nursing Center.  Bob was born in Alexander County on May 24th, 1939 to parents Charlie Jefferson and Neva Daily Payne Price.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Taylorsville, where he had been a deacon and a youth leader.  He enjoyed all sports, favoring the Dallas Cowboys, and he also loved racing.  Bob was also a strong affiliate for the Republican Party.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers: George, James, Joe, Hayden, and William “Sonny” Price; and 3 sisters: Pauline Deal, Mary Payne, and Martha Fox.  Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Millie Keener Price; daughter, Kim Johnson & husband Richard; foster son, Ryan Wilson & Patsy; 2 grandchildren: Keenan and Kayla Moose; and 2 sisters: Louise P. Herman and Elizabeth “Lib” P. Shoemaker & husband Howard – all of Taylorsville.  –and sisters-in-law, Elma and Brenda Price; and brother-in-law, Jay Clyde Fox – all of Taylorsville.  Bob also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, and also some great nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.  Immediately following the visitation will be a graveside service in the Taylorsville City Cemetery where Pastors’ Paul Sink and Gary Jennings will officiate.  Steve, Gene, and Chuck Price, Rusty Yamnitz, David Lee Herman and Mac Herman will serve as pallbearers.  Jeff Price, Jock Shoemaker, Dwayne and Michael Warren, Larry Branton, Jay Clyde Fox, Mike Bruce, and David Brinkley are honoraries.  In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba Valley Hospice at: Robert Price Memorial Donation.  Catawba Valley Hospice.  3975 Robinson Road.  Newton, NC.  28658.   Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
