Robert "Joe" Joseph Jolly, age 48, of Taylorsville, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 after injuries sustained from an motorcycle accident. He was born on May 2, 1964 to Bobby Joe and Annie Ruth Connolly Jolly of Hiddenite. He was a truck driver for Double M Trucking and loved motorcycles. Robert was a NC Motorcross Champion. He was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church and also attended Pilgrim and Little River Baptist Church. Including his parents, those left to cherish his memory include one sister, Amy M. Jolly, of Hiddenite; one brother, Jeff and wife Diane Jolly of Taylorsville; one daughter, Heather R. Jolly; the mother of his daughter and the love of his life, Kim Smith Jolly, both of Hickory; one nephew, Justin and wife Heather Jolly, of Peoria, Arizona; two nieces, Megan Scott and Madison Starnes, of Hiddenite; two special aunts, Margaret Bumgarner, of Taylorsville and Francis Shoemaker of York, Pennsylvania; and several cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. Service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Little River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Gary Jennings and Rev. Jeff Chapman will be officiating. Those serving as Pallbearers are Carlos Pizano, Scotty Pennell, James Coffee, William Price, Rodney Jolly, and Craig Caudle.
