Robert Eugene Vick Sr.

Robert Eugene Vick, Sr., age 80, of Conover passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 26, 1936 to the late Charles Dewitt Vick. In his lifetime, he worked as a painter for J and R Enterprise. Robert was a member at Victory Outreach in Hickory and loved to travel. He was an avid race fan and also a published author. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife: Joy D. Bentley Vick; son: Chuck Vick; and brother Jerry Vick. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons: Robert E. Vick, Jr. (Debbie), of Taylorsville; and David Vick (Susan), of Marion; daughter: Diana Lynn Harris (Jack), of Morganton; seven grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and fiance: Marie Risner, of Conover.

The family will have visitation on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Victory Outreach in Hickory and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with the Rev. David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
