Roger Wayne Shipman, age 56, of Hildebran, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born March 4, 1956. Roger was well known as owning and operating Hildebran Service Center for many years. He loved all things Chevy, as well as cars in general, along with dragsters. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lucille Fincannon Shipman. He is survived by his wife, “the love of his life”, Vicki Starlene Shipman of the home. Lifelong close friend, Dale Patton, close friend, Jim Supernant, as well as his in-laws, Clyde and Pat Goble; his mother-in-law, Ethel Tomlin, sister-in-law, Tamara Gilleland, step-son, Hunter Trey Bost and special little girl, Laney Johnson. He is also survived by his son, Bryan Shipman of Longview; one sister, Gloria Lewis of Hildebran and one brother, Larry Shipman of Longview. Roger has many special friends and valued customers. He is also survived by man's best friend, "Precious Payton and Jack". Visitation will be conducted on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at East Taylorsville Baptist Church in Taylorsville. Funeral Services will immediately follow the visitation with Rev. Gary Jennings, Rev. Jerry Stines and family friend Dale Patton officiating. Pallbearers will be Dale Patton, David Rowe, Jim Supernant, Brandon Johnson, Marty Hollar and John Medvic. Burial will be private.
