Rosa Shew,

Rosa Lee Shew, age 73 of Moravian Falls passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015.  Rosa was born on Wednesday, October 15, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Wayne and Electa Elmore Shumate. Rosa was of the Baptist faith and was well known at the Captains Table in Wilkesboro where she worked as a chef. She was a very talented chef. Her daughters and grandchildren were the joys of her life. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Albert and Carl Shumate, and one sister Bessie Johnson. She is survived by three daughters Robin Childers and husband Archie of Taylorsville, Myra Maynor of Moravian Falls, Teresa Shew of Denver, N.C., the father of her children William Henry Shew of Tucson, Az, one grandson Jody Dean Childers, one great grandson Mason Lackey both of Taylorsville, one brother Luther Shumate of Moravian Falls and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Service from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services are Friday, March 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service with burial following at the Scenic Memorial Gardens in Moravian Falls. The Dr. Steven Merriel and Gary W. Jennings will be officiating.
