Rosetta Faye Wike Bumgarner

December 29, 1948 — December 18, 2024

Rosetta Faye Wike Bumgarner, age 75, a cherished soul in our lives, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at her home in Alexander County. Born on Wednesday, December 29, 1948, she graced the Earth for 75 years with her unwavering love for family and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone she met.

Rose devoted 31 years as a sewer for Sherrill Furniture, where her meticulous skills and work ethic made a lasting impact. However, her greatest accomplishments were not measured in hours worked or stitches sewn; they were found in the devotion she carried for her family and friends. She was a longtime member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church, where she found profound joy and connection within her church family. Rose treasured these relationships, embracing the love and support they provided throughout her life.

Rose’s love for family extended deeply into her heart. She is survived by her brothers, Felix Wike and wife Georgia, Bobby Wike and wife Libby, and Brent Wike and wife Christa, along with her beloved great-nephew, Brian Sipe. She also leaves behind a cherished number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who carry fond memories of her laughter and kindness.

Her passions outside of work were rich and varied. Rose found happiness in the warmth of dogs and the grace of horses. She held a special fondness for traveling, particularly to the soothing sands and gentle waves of the beach, where she would create memories to treasure forever.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Curlee Daniel and Nellie Davidson Wike, as well as her dear husband, Johnny Bumgarner, and her sister, Carol Sipe. The love she shared with them remains a guiding light in the lives of those she left behind, a testament to the bonds that truly define us.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Mt. Herman Baptist Church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be at Mt. Herman Baptist Church on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Paul Schronce and Rev. Anthony Wike will officiate. Brian Sipe, Darren Sipe, Jason Wike, Danny Crouse, Frankie Bumgarner, and Justin Bumgarner will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

As we gather to remember Rose, we honor not only her life but the immense love she spread throughout her years. Her indelible spirit will leave an imprint on all our hearts, and she will be profoundly missed but forever remembered with love.
