Roxie Sharlene Wyatt Bumgarner

Roxie Wyatt Bumgarner, age 72 of Stony Point, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Roxie was born October 11, 1951, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Frank Wyatt and Pearl Allen Wyatt.

She graduated from Stony Point High School. Roxie worked at Southern Devices and Walmart Photography. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, helped with Vacation Bible School, and sang in the church choir for many years.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Leslie Nicole Bumgarner.

Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her husband of 52 years, William Rowe Bumgarner, son Andy Lynn Bumgarner and fiancé Lisa Huffman of Hiddenite, NC, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024, in the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery at 4:00 pm. Rev. Brian Eades will officiate. Scotty Abernathy, Jimmy Cook, Cameron DeCoteau, Bobby Sharpe, Jeremiah Bumgarner, and Justin Cook will serve as pallbearers.
