Roy David Hines,

Roy David Hines, age 71, of Taylorsville, passed away in Iredell Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 4th, 2012.  He was born on October 22nd, 1940 to Roy Daniel Hines and Suma Hafer Hines. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jennie Hines Gordon.  David was a member of Friendship Lutheran Church.  He was retired from Douglas and Sons Trucking.  David served in the US Marines Reserve from September 1st, 1963 to August 31st, 1969. Loved ones left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Christine Frye Hines of the home; one son, Dion Hines and wife Sonya of Taylorsville; two granddaughters: Sydney and Josie Hines; two sisters: Martha Hines Jolly and husband Winfred of Taylorsville, and Peggy Hines Lee of Charlotte; sister-in-law and husband, Linda F. and Larry Rector; brother-in-law and wife, Leon and Rita Frye; in addition to a host of nieces and nephews who loved him very much.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7th, 2012 from 1 – 2:30 P.M. at Alexander Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be conducted following the visitation at Friendship Lutheran Church at 3 P.M.
