Roy Queen "Frog",

Roy Lee Queen "Frog", age 78, of Statesville, passed away at Gordon's Hospice House on July 7, 2016. Roy was born to the late Stacie and Beulah Estes Queen on January 15, 1938 in Iredell County. Roy was of the Baptist faith. He was employed at Southern Screw for over 30 years and Walmart for 15 years.

In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by three sisters: Dorothy & Rosie Lee Queen, & Bertha Frye; two brothers: Marvin & John Queen.

Roy leaves to carry on his memory son, Jonathan Queen & Tammy of Statesville, daughter, Debbie Queen of Weaverville, two grandsons: Jessy Yount & Joshua Queen & Shirley; brother, Henry Queen & Linda, sister, Mildred Norton & Jim, one great granddaughter, Jayden Parker, and a number of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the Nurses & Doctors on the 3rd floor of the Iredell Memorial Hospital and Gina Munday  a very special caregiver.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 2:00-3:30 pm at Monticello Baptist Church in Statesville, with the funeral service following at 3:30 pm. The Rev. Bobby Henderson and the Rev. Otis Johnson will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family requests that in addition to flowers that memorials be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625
