Ruby Mae Ham Leonard

Ruby Mae Ham Leonard, age 84, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, in Iredell County. She was born to the late Rome Lee and Etta Mae Head Ham on August 12, 1938, in Iredell County. Mrs. Leonard was a member of Christian Fellowship Church. Ruby enjoyed being outside working in her garden, flowers, and mowing. She loved her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Leonard Jr., son, Robert Lee Matheson, stepsons, Michael Leonard of Georgia, Terry Leonard of Wilkesboro, sisters, Thelma Watts of Winston, Gail Lackey of Statesville, Doris Sigmon of Stony Point, brothers, Fred Ham of Statesville, Bill Ham of Hiddenite, Jesse Ham of Winston, Donald Ham of Mocksville.

Those left to cherish the memories of Ruby include her son, Junior Matheson (Deborah), daughter, Lori Matheson George (Rickey), sister, Margie Childers of Lenoir, brother, Ronnie Ham of Stony Point, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Christian Fellowship Church from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Christian Fellowship Church at 3:00 pm. Burial will be in the Hiddenite Cemetery. Pastor Scott Greene will officiate. Shannon Matheson, Brandon Matheson, Jonathan Davidson, Stephen Davidson, Frank Sigmon and Ty Matheson will serve as pallbearers.
