Ruth Marie Ham, age 90 of Taylorsville, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, March 20, 2021. Ruth was born on January 19, 1931 to the late Columbum Alexander and Emma Harrington Daniels in Alexander County. Ruth was employed at Lewittes Furniture and later served as a caregiver.
Ruth enjoyed working puzzle books, spending time reading her bible, fishing, and camping. Ruth loved everyone and everyone loved Ruth.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Robert Ham, Jr., granddaughter, Windy Meadows, brothers, Beuford, Fred, and Charlie Daniels, sisters, Marie Sue Herman, Hessie Festerman, Margie Daniels, Hazel Ann Barnes, Dela Mae Deal, and Geraldean Herman.
Those left to cherish the memories of Ruth include her sons, Mickey Daniels ( Rebekah), Ricky Ham (Virginia), Dale Ham (Maureen), David Ham, (Angela), daughters, Barbara Canipe (Ricky), Peggy Forsythe (Ed), and Debbie Bentley (Jerry).
Ruth is also leaving behind nineteen grandchildren Shelly Bolick, Bradley Wallace, Daniel Burr, Michael Burr, Debra Burr, Kerrie Ham, Cindy Meadows, Terry Ham, Mike Vasburg, Stephanie Vosburg, Chris Bentley, Anthony Bentley, Lisa Beard, Ginger Lee, Richard Canipe, Angela Riddle, Rickey Ham, Tabitha Ham, and Robert Obrien,
Thirteen great-grandchildren, James, Dallas, Cody, Brandon, Jessica, David Bolick, Sarah Ham, Jackson Griggs, Anthony, Chase, Dakota, and Dillon Riddle; special granddaughter, Shelly Bolick, along with several great-great- grandchildren and a sister, Betty Tilley.
The Ham family would like to express a special thank you to her caregiver, Jean Duhumire with Hospice of Iredell County.
Mrs. Ham’s body will Lie-in-State at Alexander Funeral Service on Thursday, March 25th, and Friday the 26th from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Visitation will be conducted on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Alexander Funeral Service from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with the funeral service following at 11:00 am. Rev. Allen Fox and Rev. Keith Bowman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Cemetery.
