Ruth Walker Query

Ruth Walker Query went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 3, 2023, at Valley Nursing Home in Hospice Care in Taylorsville, NC at the age of 96 years old. Ruth was born in Wilkes County on Saturday, November 13, 1926, to the late Elbert and Emily Sarah Crater Walker. Ruth loved to read her Bible and books written by Billy Graham as long as her eyes could see. She loved to work in her flowers, sew, and sing as her health permitted.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Everette Adams in 1966 and Rayford Query in 2009. Also, a son, Danny Query; a sister, Madolyn Rash of Olin, NC; six brothers, Dewitt, Tom and Melvin, Hickory NC, Samuel and Joe of Statesville, NC, Wayne Walker of Hiddenite, NC; and an infant granddaughter, Sandra Annette Fox of Hiddenite, NC.

Ruth leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, four children, Roger Adams and wife Doris of Taylorsville, NC, Janice Adams Ezzell of Hamilton, OH, Linda Adams Hayes and deceased husband, Gene of Hiddenite NC, Carol Adams Rush and husband, Gene of London, KY; one brother, Larry Walker of Hiddenite, NC; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2023, at Alexander Funeral Service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Linney’s Grove Baptist Church where she was a long-time member. Rev. Curt Miller and Rev. Jared Moody will officiate.
