Ruth Ann Shook Teague

Ruth Ann Shook Teague, age 72, of Taylorsville left this world for her heavenly home on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Valley Nursing Center. Born April 17, 1946 to William David (Bill) Shook and Katie Icenhour Shook. She was retired from Carolina Glove after 45 years of service. Ruth was a long time Sunday School Secretary at Taylorsville Church of God. She loved to volunteer at Alexander Senior Center and was involved in many activities. Ruth also loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She was an Atlanta Braves and Crawdads Fan. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Gary M. Teague; one sister Doris Shook Jolly; two brothers David Ray Shook & Clifford Leroy Shook; and three nephews David, Tony, & William Shook.

She is survived by one daughter Robin Teague Lafon & husband Robert; sister-in-law Sheila “Jody” Shook; three nieces Kathy Gilreath & husband Brad, Tammy Stewart & husband Tim, and April Shook & husband Ray; one nephew Dwight & wife Holly; along with several great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 11:00 am at Taylorsville Church of God with the Pastor Mark Albertino officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church off 16 S. The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Gilreath, Caleb Gilreath, Dwight Shook, Randy Walker, Shannon Walker and Kelly Walker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Taylorsville Church of God Building Fund at 556 Kerda Street, Taylorsville, NC 28681; Hospice of Alexander at 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, NC 28681; or to The Gideon’s International at Po Box 517, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
