Sarah Juel Johnson Little

June 8, 1934 — January 18, 2025

Sarah “Juel” Little, 90, of Taylorsville, NC passed away on January 18, 2025, after a period of declining health. Born June 8, 1934, in Alexander County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Albert Johnson and Ida “Louise” Watts Johnson.

Juel was a member of First Baptist Church of Taylorsville and the Flagler Beach Red Hat Club. She was employed with Alexander County Schools for 28 years as a secretary/bookkeeper. Upon her retirement in 1996, Juel and her husband Stan moved to Flagler Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed sailing, traveling, attending the Capt. Daniel Little, Esq. National Family Reunions and living “The Good Life” on North 12th Street. After Stan’s death in 2020, she returned to Taylorsville to be closer to family. She enjoyed spending time reading and working on puzzles and found happiness playing cards with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren and listening to her grandson sing and play the piano.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley C. Little and stepmother, Lorena Jolly Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jill (Rodger) King of Taylorsville, NC; grandchildren, Laura (Andrew) Gardner of Monroe, NC and Joel C. King of Taylorsville, NC; two great-grandchildren, Curtis and Ruby Gardner; two sister-in-laws, Marie Matthews of Garner, NC and

Willie R. Little of Taylorsville, NC; cousins and other relatives; friends and care giver, Deb Mayes.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Ave., Suite 1100 N, Bethesda, MD 20814; Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625; First Baptist Church, 321 W Main Avenue, Taylorsville, NC 28681 or the charity of your choice.

A graveside service for Mrs. Little will be held at Three Forks Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 3:00 pm. Rev. Scott Henson and Rev. Tim Jolly will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
