Sarah Alicia Uribe Loudermelk, age 81, a beloved member of her family and community, was born on Sunday, September 12, 1943, in Laredo, Texas. She peacefully passed away surrounded by her family at her home in Alexander County on Friday, March 14, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.
During her career, Sarah served as the director of the ESL Program at Catawba Valley Community College, where she touched the lives of many through her dedication and passion for education. Her commitment to enriching the lives of her students exemplified her character, always striving to foster understanding and connection among diverse groups.
Sarah's love for her family was profound. She delighted in spending quality time with her loved ones, often sharing joyful meals together. Her grandchildren were the brightest lights in her world, and her heart swelled with pride and joy whenever she was with them.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Michael Loudermelk, children, Melissa Dyson (Rodney) and Anthony Loudermelk (Nikki), grandchildren, Josh Loudermelk and Paxton Dyson, her sisters, Melly Apsley (Dennis) and Luly Garrity (James), and a number of nieces and special friends are reminders of the warmth and strength of family ties that she cherished so dearly.
Beyond her family and career, Sarah embraced life through her hobbies. Painting, shopping, and traveling brought her immense happiness, allowing her to express her creativity and explore the world around her. She also was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents Gustavo Antonio Uribe and Carmen Estela Saenz Uribe.
Sarah's life will be celebrated at a visitation on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville, NC, followed by a memorial service on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 4:00. Danny Loudermilk and Scott Hammer will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.

Though Sarah may no longer be with us, her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
