Shane Anthony Steffey, age 31 of Gastonia passed away at his home on Saturday, October 17, 2020.
Shane was born on April 14, 1989, the son of Lori Smith of Newton, NC. He was an apprentice plumber and a member of the Greybeards motorcycle club.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carter Harold Steffey of Vale and Elizabeth Turner Steffey of Lincolnton and Sam and Willabell Shope of Robbinsville, NC.
Those left to cherish the memories of Shane include his parents, Stephen Darnell and Lori Steffey Smith of Newton, his dad, James Daniel Shope and fiancé Amy Byrd of Bessemer City, step-mother, Amanda Shope of Franklin, NC, twin daughters, Madison Laray Steffey and Zoey Paige Steffey, one step-son, Hunter Mullins, and girlfriend Jessica Roxanne Ethridge, grandparents Stephen and Kim Smith of Mooresville, two sisters, Kimberly Elizabeth Smith of Conover, Miranda Page Maldonado of Havelock, four brothers, Daniel Keith Shope of Gastonia, Stephen Khai Smith, Carter Le Smith and Jasper Ian Smith of Newton.
Receiving for Shane will be conducted on Friday, October 23, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 503, Thornburg Drive NE., Conover, NC. 28613. From 3:30 pm until 4:30 pm. The funeral service will follow at 4:30 pm until 5:15 pm. please feel free to dress casually. Burial will be in the Southside Cemetery in Newton at 5:30 pm.
