Sharon Brigman Smolko

Sharon Faye Brigman Smolko, age 81, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at UNC Chapel Hill in Orange County. Mrs. Smolko was born to the late Earnest Brigman and Arlene Webb Brigman in Chesterfield, SC on December 25, 1940. Sharon enjoyed flowers and sitting on her front porch looking at her pond and watching wildlife. She loved her family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Webb Brigman.

Those left to cherish the memories of Sharon include her husband of 63 years, Stephen Smolko, daughters, Karen Carpenter (Allen), Deborah Spencer (Edward), sisters, Mary Vandegrift, Peggy Whitonis (Joe), brothers, James Brigman (Gaye), Bruce Brigman (Melinda), five grandchildren, Thomas Spencer (Cara), Heather Koblanski (Darci), Brent Spencer (Samantha), Erik Spencer (Rhiannon), Stephen Smolko II (Kat), seven great-grandchildren, Cole, Madison, Everleigh, Connor, Rowynn, Lydia, and Stevie, and several extended family members and friends.

There are no services planned at this time. Inurnment will be with the family.
