Sheila "Diane" Dagenhart

Sheila "Diane" Mayberry Dagenhart, age 65  of the Stony Point community passed away at her home on Saturday, October 6, after a lengthy illness.  Diane was born in Iredell County on October 10, 1946 to Joe and Pearl Mayberry, attended Marvin United Methodist Church where she was involved in a multitude of church activities as well as serving with various organizations in the surrounding counties such as The March of Dimes, United Way, Alexander County Board of Elections, and Alexander County Recreation Department.  She had worked as a frame maker.   Other activities which she enjoyed was gardening, flowers, gnomes, Home Interiors, ceramics, and playing volleyball.  She leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Buford "Steve" Dagenhart of the home.  Her mother, Pearl Moose Mayberry.  Two daughters Stephanie Hubbard (Rodney) and Kim Dagenhart (Dennis).  One grandson, Brett Dagenhart.  A sister, Judy Moose (David) of Hiddenite. Five brothers; Steve Mayberry of Statesville; Ricky "TR" Mayberry of Hiddenite; Eddie Mayberry of Hickory; Craig Mayberry (Donna) of Taylorsville; and Jerry Mayberry (Bonnie) of Stony Point.  She also has nine nephews, four nieces, five great-nephews, nine great nieces, and one great-great nephew.   Those preceding her in death was her father, Joe Billy Mayberry and one infant son.
Visitation for Mrs. Dagenhart will be held on Monday, October 8 from 1:30 - 2:45 pm at Marvin United Methodist Church with the Funeral Service to begin at 3:00 pm.  Rev. Naomi King and Mr. Jeff Carson will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery, known as Union Cemetery.    Pallbearers will be Destry Moose, Shawn Moose, Clint Mayberry, Jeremy Mayberry, Devin Mayberry, Kenneth Mayberry, and Kyle Mayberry.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Harrington, C.V. Stewart, Jr. and   William Bryant Waugh.     The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marvin Union Methodist Church@ 1185 Sharon School Road, Stony Point, NC  28678 and/or Union Cemetery Fund @ c/o Eric Burgess,   1311 Johnny Martin Lane, Stony Point, NC  28678.
