Shelia Lorene Woody Brewster, age 46, of Hiddenite, passed away in Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, following a brief illness. Born, Aug. 19, 1964 to the late Alex Woody Jr. and Isabell Mitchell Woody in McDowell County W.Va. she was employed by the Child Development Center of First Baptist Church in Taylorsville, where she had worked with children for the past thirteen years. She was of the Baptist faith. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and “MaMaw” to her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Coy Woody and one sister, Ruth Jeannette Pennell.  She is survived by her husband of twenty four years, Eurlise Lee “Bud” Brewster of the home. Shelia has two sons: Jason Conway Brewster and wife Shena Brooke of Hiddenite and Joshua Coy Brewster of the home. She has one daughter, Nina Jessica Christine Brewster of the home. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Aiden Lee and Aleeyah Ann Lorene Brewster, both of Hiddenite.  Five brothers survive, Jerry Woody and wife Barbara, of Stanley, N.C. , Danny and Ronald Woody, both of Davie, W.VA., Joe Woody and wife, Jennie of Taylorsville, and Thurl Woody of Lincolnton, N.C. Mrs. Brewster has three sisters, Georgia “Sissy” Hall and husband Bobby, Opal Woody, and Wilma Reeves, all of Stanley, N.C. She has a number of nieces and nephews. Her extended family includes all the staff of the Child Development Center and members of First Baptist Church in Taylorsville.  Visitation will be held, Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church with memorial services at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Tim Marsh and the Rev. Tony Daniels will officiate. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 57 Kendra Ln. Taylorsville, N.C. 28681.  Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
