Stanley Francis Reese, 76 of the Ellendale community went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 12 while in Frye Regional Medical Center.  Born in AlexanderCountyon January 28, 1935 to the late Clement Walter and Damie Icenhour Reese, he was a self-employed mechanic for over 50 years.  As a dedicated member of Linney’s GroveBaptistChurch, he served as a Deacon and taught the Men’s Sunday School class for many years.  Besides his parents, those who preceded him in death were three brothers:  John, Atwell, and Graydon Reese.  Six sisters:  Flossie and Alma Reese, Beulah Bowman, Rosie Carlson, Lois Rector, and Bessie Kerley; as well as one niece, Judy Carlson George.  Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 55 years, Betty Reese of the home.  One daughter Angelia Reese Bowman and husband Greg.  One son Douglas Stanley Reese.  Two grandsons:  Trevor Douglas, and Tyler Marcus Reese.  Two granddaughters:  Reese Gabrielle, and Reilley Dianne Bowman.  Nephews include:  Tommy Kerley, Dallas, Vaughn, Roger, and Ronnie Reese, and Charlie Carson.  Nieces include:  Rachel Martin, Rita Fox, Anita Griffin, Linda Troxclair, Betty Elliott, Hazel Bowman, and Sharon Reese; as well as a number of great-nephews and nieces and cousins.  Visitation for Mr. Reese will be held on Sunday, August 14 at Alexander Funeral Service from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.   Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, August 15 at Linney’s GroveBaptistChurchat 4:00 pm. The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.  The Rev. Wesley Rexrode, Rev. William Wease, and Rev. Gary Jennings will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Paul Bearers will be Deacons of Linney’s GroveBaptistChurch.  Honorary Paul Bearers will be the nephews of Mr. Reese.  The family has requested that in lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Linney’s Grove Baptist General Fund @ 6160 Sulphur Springs Rd, Hiddenite, 28636.  Arrangements entrusted to Alexander Funeral & Cremation Service.
