Stanley Thomas Reid, age 69 of Taylorsville, passed away in Select Specialty Care Hospital inWinston-Salem on Sunday, August 28, 2011. He was born inCaldwellCountyon November 16, 1941 to Mack Donald and Beulah White Reid. As a member ofOxfordMemorialBaptistChurch, he served in many church ministry capacities. Mr. Reid was well known in the area as “The Sundrop Man”, as he drove for Granite Bottling and Coca Cola. After retiring he was known as “The Lawn Mower Man. Mr. Reid is survived by his wife Linda Holsclaw Reid and his mother Beulah Reid. Also one brother Steven Donald Reid and wife Frances; one sister Judy Reid; and a number of nieces, nephews, and family members. Those preceding Mr. Reid in death are his father, Mack D Reid, both his mother-in-law and father-in-law Bob and Margaret Holsclaw and one Brother-in-law Paul David Reid. Visitation for Mr. Reid will be on Tuesday, August 30 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Oxford Memorial Baptist Fellowship Hall. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, at 4:00 pm atOxfordMemorialBaptistChurchwith the Rev. Neal Walker and Rev. Otis Gowins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
