Stephen Clayton Teague, age 75, peacefully passed away on Friday. July 19, 2024, at his home in Alexander County. He was born on Friday, June 3, 1949, in Catawba County to the late Dan and Novella Bowman Teague. He was the loving husband and a dedicated family man.
During his successful career, Steve served as the head of engineering at Clayton Marcus and Huntington House, where his dedication and expertise shone brightly. Beyond his professional endeavors, Steve was known for his diverse interests and hobbies. He found joy in outdoor activities such as golfing, hunting, shooting, as well as horseback and motorcycle riding. Steve was also a fan of watching action movies, classic westerns, and the cowboy way.
Steve will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: his son Shawn, daughter Stephanie Teague, grandchildren Daniel, Moriah, Sage, and Joseph; as well as his brother Marc (Debbie) Teague; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws Kenneth Warren, John Simon, Mary Ellen (Clyde) Herman, Carson (Soo Kyung) Elder, Virgil Schultz, and Paul (Mary) Elder; and a number of treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Including his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Elder Teague, daughter-in-law, Paula Teague, sisters-in-law, Linda Simon and Stephanie Elaine Schultz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm at Fellowship Advent Christian Church. The funeral service will continue at Fellowship Advent Christian Church at 5:00 pm. Followed by the graveside in the church cemetery. Pastor Bill Millinor will officiate. Daniel Teague, Joseph Teague, David Starnes, Paul Elder, Kenneth Warren, and Dwight Hollar will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Marc E. Teague.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Thrivent Charitable in care of Steve and Jane Teague Memorial Fund, 910 Tate Blvd SE Suite 105, Hickory, NC 28602.
Steve's steadfast support to his immediate and extended family and friends will be missed and forever cherished. His willingness to help others with their problems and challenges whether they be mechanical, financial, or intellectual will be forever missed. May he always be remembered as a trustworthy man of integrity, loyalty, and discretion. Of course, we will never forget how he relished a good prank and the joy that it brought to himself and others.
