Sylvia Jean Dyson Sprinkle, age 64, of Taylorsville passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, December 8, 2018 at UNC Rex Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 6, 1954 in Catawba County, the daughter of Reba Hildebran Dyson, of the home and the late Devon Walter Dyson. Sylvia had prior worked as a secretary for Attorney Dale Graham and Crest Knolls & Ridgeway Apartments. She was a member at Liledoun Baptist Church. Sylvia had a very outgoing personality and loved doing crafts, being known for her drawings. She also enjoyed horse back riding and loved her animals. Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her husband James Gilbert Sprinkle; and sister Sandra Mundy.
Including her mother, those left to cherish her memory include her sisters Marcella Barlowe of the home and Laura Hamby of Moravian Falls; brother Rev. Tony Dyson of Connolly Springs; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 1:30 pm – 2:45 pm at Liledoun Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with the Rev. James Lockee, Rev. Tony Dyson, & Rev. Tanner Mundy officiating. Burial will follow at Liledoun Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Hamby, Ricky Hamby, Bret Mundy, Coty Barlowe, Tyler Cline, and Nick Dyson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Liledoun Baptist Church Building Fund at 2628 Liledoun Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
