Talmage Ambrose Loudermilk, 92, of Taylorsville passed away on Tuesday, January 15 at the Catawba Valley Hospice House. Born to the late Daniel Ambrose and Alice Leola (Neagle) Loudermilk on January 16, 1920. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served during World War II in the 150th infantry as Staff Sergeant attached to the jungle platoon and was honorably discharged. Talmage was a farmer and also worked in the textile industry. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church and was also an avid hunter and outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother - Ralph Loudermilk and five sisters - Charlotte Goforth, Lois Harrington, Oza Bell McCurdy, Edna Chapman and Thomasene Goforth. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Anna Belle Barker Loudermilk; two sons - David Loudermilk and wife Joann and Danny Loudermilk and wife Jeanne; five grandchildren - Jenell Long and Candace Teague; Jack Gray Jr. and Aleta Towe; and Christopher Loudermilk, all of Taylorsville; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers - Daniel "Dee" Loudermilk, of Taylorsville and Redford Coffey, of Lenoir; a special family friend - Jan Parker, of Taylorsville and a numerous number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Calvary Chapel and a Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Catawba Regional Hospice at 3975 Robinson Rd; Newton, NC 28658.
