Tanya Lynette Mitchell Smith

Tanya Lynette Mitchell Smith, age 51, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2024, at her home in Alexander County. She was born to the late Jennis Arthur Mitchell and Melinda Kay Barker Mitchell on Saturday, November 4, 1972, in Iredell County. Tanya worked as a nurse and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed Little House on the Prairie, pets, especially dogs.

Those left to cherish the memories of Tanya include her daughter, Kayla Johnson, grandson, and brother, Shawn Mitchell.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Service from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Hiddenite Cemetery at 4:00 pm. Rev. Jeff Carson will officiate.

The family will accept flowers.
