Tayne Hefner Lackey

Tayne Hefner Lackey is now free from the cancer she fought for six years. Tayne passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. Tayne was born on November 16, 1960, in Alexander County to Cloyd Hefner and the late Helen Louise Fox Hefner. Tayne was saved by the grace of God and was a faithful member of Wayfound Baptist Church where she served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and guitarist. She enjoyed photography and listening to gospel music. Tayne loved her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Rick Lackey, brother, Todd Hefner, and mother-in-law, Faye Belle Jolly Lackey.

Those left to cherish and share the memories of Tayne include her father, Cloyd Hefner; daughter, Brooke Williams (Billy); son, Jordan Lackey (Amber); seven grandchildren, Mackenzie Williams, McKayleigh Lackey, Rylyn Williams, Kennady Lackey, Israel Lackey, Carter Williams, Isaac Lackey; father and mother-in-law, Waitsell Lackey (Donnie); special friends, Alyson Cunningham, Jackie Smith, Lora Rosamond, and Kathy Gray; and a number of nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Wayfound Baptist Church from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm. The funeral service will be Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Wayfound Baptist Church at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Jim Bowman, Pastor Sam Vallini, and Brother Michael White will officiate.
