Thelma Nadine Thompson, age 75 of Taylorsville passed away at her residence in Taylorsville on May 22, 2019. Born to the late James Franklin and Thelma Caroline Broome. Nadine’s career included working in education at District 5, Lexington – Richland South Carolina and Southern Westley University in South Carolina, at her pleasure she was a choir director, enjoyed cooking, working with flowers, spending time with her grandchild and tutoring for Alexander County Schools. Nadine also volunteered for the Mobile Café at Reformation Lutheran Church and helped at the Farmer’s Daughter.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Rev. Dr. Robert Thompson and a brother Frank Broome.
Those left to cherish the memories of Ms. Thompson include her son Robert Thompson and wife Debbie of Taylorsville, daughter Stephanie Childs and husband Nathan of San Antonio, Texas, seven grandchildren, two great-grand-children, sister -in-law Edna Broome of Bristol, Tenn. Along with many nieces and nephews and a host of special friends and extended family.
Visitation will be held on May 30, 2019 at Reformation Lutheran Church in Taylorsville from 3:00 pm until 4:15 pm with the funeral service following at 4:30 pm. Cremains will be endured at Reformation Lutheran Church. The Rev. Craig Sigmon and Rev. John Meisenheimer will be officiating.
