Thomas "Tommy" Davidson,

Thomas William "Tommy" Davidson, age 65 of Taylorsville, passed away in Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte on Thursday, September 8, 2011 following a brief illness.  Born October 28, 1945 to the late Noah Parks and Sarah Auton Davidson, in Alexander County, he was of the Baptist faith.  He was employed at Broyhill Furniture in the shipping department for over 35 years.  He loved the mountains and everything about them.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one brother, Lindsay Davidson.  He is survived by his wife of forty years, Darlene Russell Davidson, as well as two daughters, Nancy Davidson of Taylorsville, and Lue Ann Cook and husband Robert of Lenoir.  His memory will be cherished by three wonderful grandsons:  Marshall, Madison, and Mitchell Cook, all of Lenoir. Tommy has three sisters: Lizzie Bentley, Hazel Brown, Mertie Hatten, all of Taylorsville, and two brothers, Lloyd of Taylorsville, and Michael Davidson of San Antonio, TX.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 1:30-3:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service, with services at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery.  Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service of Taylorsville is handling arrangements.
