Tommy Dean Hatton, age 60, of Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at Iredell Memo. Hospital. Born, March 17, 1950, in Caldwell County, to the late Thomas Wilson Hatton and Beatrice Edna Pennell Hatton. Tommy was a sample frame builder, line-leader, and supervisor at Clayton Marcus where he had worked for forty-one years. He was a member of Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. Tommy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who adored his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Dawn Hatton; one brother Larry Tilford Hatton, One nephew James Hatton, one infant sister, Edna Hatton and his father-in-law Millard William Fox. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Fox Hatton, one son, Tommie Ray Hatton, one daughter, Angela Hatton Childers and husband Bryan. He has four cherished grandchildren, Ameri Dawn Childers, Aiden Shane Childers, Ethan Cole Childers, Cooper Shae Childers. He also has four brothers, Willard Hatton and wife, Betty, Don Hatton and wife Louise, Jim Hatton and wife Pearl, and Herman Hatton and wife Geraldine, all of Taylorsville.  He has five nieces, Natasha Pennell, Sandy Foxx, Kim Bishop, April Johnson, Jennifer Duncan. Four nephews, Donald, David, Timmy, and Jermey Hatton. One brother-in-law Billy Joe Fox, and mother-in-law Ruby Warren and husband Ralph. Visitation will be held Monday evening, Nov. 15, 2010 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be held Tues. Nov. 16, 2010, at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Allen Fox and Rev. Lee Church officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Donald Hatton, David Hatton, Timmy Hatton, Jermey Hatton, Eric Foxx, and Donnie Pennell will serve as pallbearers. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 517, Taylorsville, NC 28681 or Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, 47 Poplar Valley Ln. Taylorsville, 28681 or Cancer Treatment Center of America, 2520, Elisha Ave., Zion, Illinois 60099. The family would like to extend a very special ‘thank you’ to Drs: Fulghum, Nicholson, and Scholar, the Midwestern Cancer Treatment Center of America, Catawba County Urgent Care, PA Mike Brashear, all the extended family, Tommy’s church family at Mountain Ridge, Pastor Allen Fox and family; The Ruritans. Dan & Liz Huffman of Yap Studios, and Mountain Ridge Baptist Church for all of the fundraising; and to the surrounding community for all the prayer, love, and support. They especially want to thank the Lord for all He did for them during Tommy’s fight with cancer.  Alexander Funeral Service is serving the Hatton Family.
