Tommy Little Hubbard, age 74, of Taylorsville, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Friday, November 20, 2015. He was the son of the late Carter Baxter and Hattie Grace Miller Hubbard. Tommy was born on Monday, November 17, 1941 in Alexander County. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Tommy was owner and operator of Tommy's Market and worked in produce most of his life. His father passed away when he was 10 years old and Tommy sold produce to help support his family. Tommy was married to his loving and devoted wife Hilda Kerley Hubbard for 54 wonderful years. In the early years of his marriage he was employed at Broyhill Furniture. Tommy realized his need for the Lord and was saved in his early 20's.

Tommy bought his first produce store in 1973, which was named Tommy's Market. In 1984 he purchased Try Me Food Center. He acquired Tommy's Market Produce #2  in 1991. Tommy was known all over the United States for his work in the produce trade. He was a 4X member of the Blue Book. He was also awarded the Longleaf Pine Award and a key to Taylorsville City by the Chamber of Commerce.

Tommy was a very devoted, supportive, and loving father. He always had time for his family and friends whenever there was a need. He always put others before himself and never said no.

In addition to his parents Tommy was preceded in death by brothers; Escoe, Grady, John, and Dwight Hubbard, sisters; Nany Kerley and Hetty Wilcox, & two infant siblings.

He is survived by his wife, two children Karen Hubbard Kelley, Kelvin Little Hubbard & Tammy, grandchildren; Kelly Keever Hickerson & Jeremy, Jason Carlton Keever, Sierra Hubbard Ball & Brandon, Jordan Little Hubbard & Shellie Bentley, fiancé, Kristin Hubbard Abts & Robert, great grandchildren, Emma Grace, Ava Faith, & Aleah Hope Hickerson, Mason Lee & Hadley Grace Ball, Myla Lashae Abts, brother Lawrence Hubbard, sister Hilda Fulmer, and a number of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The Funeral service is Monday, November 23, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bill Smith & Rev. Gurney Robbins will be officiating. The family requests that in addition to flowers memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 4240 Vashti Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681
