Tommy Lynn Callahan, age 64, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday morning, June 30th, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. He was born on November 12th, 1946 in Washington County, Tennessee to parents Alfred and Dorothy Warlow Callahan. He worked as a sander for Windsor Frame Company. Tommy liked antique cars and participated in car shows. He also enjoyed traveling through the mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Littrell; and 4 brothers: William “Bill,” Fred, Sidney, and Robert “Poodle” Callahan. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 39 years, Gypsy Callahan of the home; their son, Tommy Doyle Callahan, also of the home; and 2 daughters: Pam Teague & husband Tony, and Tammie Fie – both of Taylorsville. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Jeremy Godfrey of Hickory, Timothy Gathers stationed in Afghanistan, Susan Gathers of Whittier, Tiffany Creson & husband Caleb of Conover; and also 1 great-grandson, Zachary “Zach” Sandler - also of Conover. He also is survived by 1 brother: Samuel “Sammy” Callahan of Rhodhiss, and 2 sisters: Wanda Gale Hamilton of Johnson City, TN, and Ann Ledford of Hickory; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 from 2-4:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral service chapel where the Rev.
