Tommy Edward Southard

 Tommy Edward Southard, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2024. Born on September 15, 1959, in Catawba County, to the late Shirley Hampton and Bernice Inez Carrigan Southard. He lived a life filled with a deep passion for his work and a love for old cars, from selling them to fixing them up. Tommy worked at Craftmaster for 37 years, was very hard working, and loved his job. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a proud Christian. Most of all he enjoyed coaching and going to his grandchildren's ball games. 
 
 Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Patricia Ann Southard, Mary Lou Scott, Richard Southard, Ricky Southard.
 
 Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Karen Barnette Southard; his daughter Sherry Southard Fritz (Greg); son Phillip Southard (Jessica); grandsons Dustin Roache, Daniel Roache, Austin Thomas (Kaelyn), Aidan Pope, Ethan Fritz, Matthew Deal, Phillip "PJ" Southard; granddaughters Darienne Cox, Kayla Southard, Victoria Severt, Cita Severt; as well as 9 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends who were touched by his kindness and warmth.
 
 A visitation for Tommy will be held Tuesday April 16, 2024, at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm. The funeral service will be held Tuesday April 16, 2024, at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Brian Douthit will officiate. Pallbearers will be Phillip Southard, Dustin Roache, Daniel Roache, Austin Thomas, Aidan Pope, Greg Fritz, Phillip "PJ" Southard, and River Roache. 
 
 The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 848 Pisgah Church Rd Stony Point, NC 28678
   
 In celebrating Tommy's life and legacy, let us remember the laughter he brought and the love he shared with all those around him. May his memory be a source of comfort and strength during this difficult time of loss.
