Tony "Big John"

Tony Bruce Meadlock “Big John”, age 53 of Taylorsville passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 25, 2011.    Born on May 17, 1958 in Catawba County, Mr. Meadlock was a professional truck driver and worked for Lucas Oil Products.  He was previously employed by Sherrill Furniture as well as Zenith Transport.  He attended Little River Baptist Church.  He was an avid fan of NASCAR and all forms of racing, and liked classic cars and Harley-Davidson motorcycles, as well as big old trucks.  Those preceding Mr. Meadlock in death are his grandparents:  Floyd and Pearl Hefner, and Lee and Mamie Meadlock.    The family will receive friends at Little River Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 28, from 1:30 – 2:45 pm. with the Funeral Service beginning at 3:00 pm.  The Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Jeff Chapman and Mr. Randy Barnes will officiate.   Pallbearers will be Terry Foxx, Tim Foxx, Randy Barnes, Mark Ijams, Ronald Tilley, Bryan Teague, Christy Bebber, and Tommy Hand.    Memorials may be forwarded to Hospice and Home Care of Alexander County @ 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, 28681, and/or Little River Baptist Church @ 2070 Little River Church Rd, Taylorsville, 28681.   Condolences may be sent to www.alexfuneralservice.com
