Tony Jillson Correll,

Tony Jillson Correll, age 74, of Taylorsville, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rowan County on December 29, 1939 to the late Calvin Wright Correll and Lillian Hammer Correll. Tony served in the Navy Reserves during Post Korea and Pre Vietnam era and was of the Lutheran faith. He was a farmer and loved short-horn beef cattle. Tony was also a licensed electrical contractor and taught electrical shop at Alexander County High School for 32 years. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda Rexrode Correll of the home; sons: Troy Correll and Tanner Correll of Taylorsville; daughter: Melissa Correll of Campobello, SC; grandchildren: Bryton Champion of Campobello, SC, Currie Chavez and Trevor Chavez of Seven Lakes, NC; and brother: James Correll of Reisterstown, MD.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Rexrode officiating. Burial will take place after the service in the Taylorsville City Cemetery.
