Tressie Richey Setzer,

Tressie E. Richey Setzer, age 74, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014. She was born in Alexander County on May 14, 1940 to the late Arthur Ray Richey and Floy Belle Benfield Richey. Tressie was retired from Socks And Things in Hickory and she was a very active member of Union Baptist Church in Lenoir. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Charles "Charlie" Setzer of the home; daughters: Regina Church and husband Robert of Taylorsville, Patricia Grant and husband Tim of Lenoir, and Beverly Winkler and husband Kelly of Hudson; grandchildren: Lea Church of Taylorsville, Jenna Bumgarner, Marie Saunders, Tristan Saunders of Lenoir, Evan Bumgarner, Ricky Grant, Amanda Grant of Raleigh, Jared Winkler and Jeremy Winkler of Hudson; siblings: Ollie Belle Austin, Betty Bowman and husband Donald Lee, Claude Richey and wife Lorene, Katherine Davidson and husband Ronald, Glenn Ritchie and wife Vickie, Johnny Ritchie and wife Melissa, Harvey Ritchie and wife Nancy all of Taylorsville, and Peggy Hollar and husband Melvin of Hickory; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Union Baptist Church in Lenoir. The service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Myron Davis and Rev. Luke Breakfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Mark Bowman, Richard Bowman, Kelly Ray Ritchie, Tim Austin, Shawn Reed, Jamie Davidson, and Michael Davidson.
