Virginia "Ginny" Miller,

Virginia“Ginny” Pierce Miller, age 49, of Statesville, NC passed away on Friday, June 3 at IredellMemorialHospital.  She was born on March 23, 1962 in San Antonio, TX.  She had been employed as a Manager in the Food Service industry.  Mrs. Miller was a member of Sharon Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was involved in several ministries of the church, including VBS and Fund Raisers.  She is survived by her husband, James Paulie Miller and her father, Bill Pierce and mother-in-law, Helen Miller.  Children include Ellen Workman and husband Danny; Margaret Peggy Silverstone; Thomas and Laura Pierce all of Statesville.  Step-children are Yvonne Locklear and husband Wade of Stony Point, Jamie Miller and wife Heather of Taylorsville; Frankie Miller and wife Elizabeth Miller of Statesville, Sallie Miller of Taylorsville.  Grandchild; Dani Jo Workman and 15 step grandchildren Shana and Chase Lusk, Danielle and Darrian Workman of WV, AJ, Jessica, Tiffany, Dorothy and Sammy Locklear, Rhett, Rusty, Paul, Mary, Evan and Ellie Miller. Three sisters;  Debbie Pierce of Statesville; Toni Payne and husband Dennis of Virginia; Tammy Stewart and husband Marcus of West Virginia.  One Brother, Hank Pierce.  Three sisters-in-law; Paulette Brawley and husband Robert and Rosie Miller of Statesville; Darlene Whittaker and husband Garland of Claremont, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her mother; Nancy Catron and her Grandmother, Mary Kalotta.  Visitation for Mrs. Miller will be held at Alexander Funeral Service on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 4:00 pm at SharonEvangelicalLutheranChurchin Statesville, NC.  Her body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.  Officiates will be Rev. Darrell Norris, and Rev. David Keck.  Burial will follow in the ChurchCemetery.  Memorials may be made to Sharon Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2116 Island Ford Rd, Statesville, NC  28625.   Arrangements entrusted to Alexander Funeral & Cremation Service.
